Israeli Forces Seize Gaza-Bound Aid Ship Madleen, Detain Greta Thunberg and Activists
Israeli troops have intercepted the Madleen, a humanitarian ship from the Freedom Flotilla heading to Gaza, while it was in international waters. On board were activists from multiple countries, including Greta Thunberg.
After boarding, troops forced everyone to shut off their phones, cutting communication. The Freedom Flotilla Coalition confirmed the raid and loss of contact, calling it a violation of international law.
Thunberg had earlier recorded a message saying, “If you see this, we are being intercepted and kidnapped.” All activists have reportedly been detained and taken to Israel.
